伍尔弗汉普敦大学英文介绍

The University of Wolverhampton has almost 24,000 students studying across our four campuses, on distance learning courses and at study centres around the world. We’re proud that around 3,000 international students currently choose to study with us.

Located in the heart of England, Wolverhampton is a thriving cosmopolitan city with excellent access to road, rail and air links to explore the UK’s many attractions.

We’re currently creating an exciting learning and living environment for the 21st Century. Backed by the latest technology, buildings and facilities, it’s got a virtual reality suite, hi-tech sports centre, brand new student accommodation and one of the largest single area wireless networks in UK Higher Education - you can access the Internet at no additional cost!

  Academic strengths
Thanks to funding worth £4.5 million from the Higher Education Funding Council, the University has been awarded a Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. This Centre is currently developing cutting-edge e-learning techniques, including a new Virtual Learning Environment – you can tap into study resources no matter where you are based.

And you’ll benefit from extra student support – sometimes through text messaging or personal digital assistants – to help you develop an e-portfolio where you can keep a personal record of your achievements and abilities for academic and career planning.

If you’re looking to improve your career prospects worldwide, undergraduate or postgraduate study, Wolverhampton should be your natural choice. We’ve got hundreds of courses to choose from in traditional subjects, such as business and law, to innovative areas including computer games design and music technology.

  Facilities
New for September 2005 is the new Technology Complex in the heart of City Campus. The building is equipped with the latest software and facilities to support subjects including computing, product design and media – your chance to put the theory you’ve learnt straight into practice.

Our sporting facilities have recently benefited from the addition of a modern Sports Centre at the Walsall Campus – it includes a floodlit synthetic athletics track, state-of-the-art exercise science facilities (accredited by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Science), and houses the English Institute of Sport, World Class National Judo Centre of Excellence.

The brand new Student Village at Walsall Campus is the latest addition to our Internet-ready student accommodation. A recent national survey put our student accommodation as the best value in the UK. All rooms have a wireless network connection, included in the cost of your rent, with no charge for Internet use.

State-of-the-art Learning Centres on all campuses combine traditional library services with IT and electronic information. All Centres are networked and offer access to electronic subject databases and full text electronic journals. There are also DVDs, videos and slides, as well as laptops, available for you to borrow.

Science facilities are excellent with purpose-built biomedical and psychology laboratories. Performing arts students can take advantage of two sprung-floor dance studios, access to the Wolverhampton-based Arena Theatre, music studios, rehearsal and practice rooms and a full range of amplification equipment.

  Student life
International students benefit from an excellent support network as soon as they arrive including an airport meeting service, orientation programme, and a series of English Language courses.

The International Office organises a variety of social events including special cultural events, celebrations and day trips. Our active Students’ Union offers a variety of activities and societies you can join to suit your own personal interests.

The University has its own Faiths’ Centre on Wolverhampton City Campus that offers religious support to reflect the varying faiths of our student population. There is also space on the City and Telford campuses for Muslim prayer with Islamic, Sikh and Christian societies in the Students’ Union.
